Tom's daughter very ill

Postby topless » Tue Jul 27, 2010 9:26 pm

Wanted to let everyone know that Tom's little girl, Alyssa, is very ill. She has been in Calvert Memorial Hosp. since Fri with pneumonia and is not responding well to her meds, so this evening she was transferred to Childrens Hosp. in D.C.
Tim and I happened to be at Calvert Memorial visiting our little nephew and saw Tom. Needless to say this is a very difficult time for them. They are in our thoughts and prayers.
Just wanted to let everyone know.

Think the club should send something. Do we need to take up a collection?

I think a small flower or Balloon bouqet would be nice. I'll help pitch in for anything.

Yes, I think we should send something. Unless there is an objection I don't see why the club funds cannot pay for it.

I hope Alyssa gets better soon!

I agree with Vicky,a balloon bouquet would be nice. I also agree with Amy that club funds could cover this. She is a very sick little girl.

hi folks,

since Sandy posted this up, I'll keep ya'll updated.

We arrived at Children's Hospital in DC about 9:30 last night. I have to say other than being in the center of Hell it's pretty nice. Alyssa has an acute onset of pneumonia that requires surgery to remove the gunk from the lungs so the antibotics can work. Calvert didn't feel comfortable w/ the procedure w/ it being a child so here we are. She will most likely being having the first of two surgeries just after lunch, so finger's crossed.

Anyone wanting to have balloons and such delivered, I'm sure Alyssa will be happy with it....we are in rm E-732A.

I'll keep everyone posted.
